the number 1 piston spun the crank bearing, I replace the bearings, but it's still having issues?...  1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 2.0L

1)   did you pull the crank and have it turned and replace the rod - S D

2)   Did you have the journal turned? You will have to do that while you are at it you should do the same for all bearings as they run without oil pressure when you spun the bearings. If you ran it very long you might also have to replace all of them in the engine including cam & mains plus rings.

3)   You changed the bearings? Did you have the crank checked? Did a machine shop put a micrometer on everything? Or did anyone? - Mark

4)   did it scar the crank? if it did then you should have got it turned and use oversize bearings. and what about the oil journels, are they opened up? - bandit_60

2)   Go to a tire & battery store, they can look it up! It also depends on the brand! - JD

3)   As long as you get a 12V car battery you'll be good, some vary in shape and size (slightly), any brand will work but I prefer Optima brand. (its worth the xtra $$$) - porschefan982000

why does it take forever for my truck to start up when its cold out?...

1)   when its cold outside the car is like a snake i guess you can say it tend to work slow from the cold because its not warmed up or at the temperature it's spost to be when it starts up if u have problems of being late in the morning to your job i suggest going out ten minutes befor youactuall leave and try to keep turning it on eventually it has to work

2)   not enough fuel

if its fuel injected then the CTS might be bad


or the fuel pump is weak

most common is weak fuel pump

if its not fuel injected then it needs a choke or the choke repaired - mr wabbit

3)   Well if your truck is pre fuel injection then you might need a choke. If it is fuel injected then you might need to pull up some codes or have your mechanic do it. Hope this helps - Dk

4)   I am actually inclined to say, despite the fuel suggestions, that you get your battery tested. If you don't have enough cold cranking amps to turn the starter at a high enough rate, you can have trouble getting the engine to kick over. If it is the battery, go with Interstate batteries, almost everything else is made by Exide and is sub-par. - SargeH
